Elephanta caves are in Gharapuri, Mumbai. It’s an island on the east side of Mumbai not more than 10 km away. You need to take a ferry from Gateway of India to go to Elephanta Island.

Elephanta caves are 10 km away from Gateway of India on the east side of Mumbai, Maharashtra. You need to take the ferry from Gateway of India to visit Elephanta Caves.
