Yes, pets are allowed on Sinhagad fort. I have once seen a young girl carrying a sweet small doggy in her backpack while we were climbing the Sinhagad fort. So, yes you can take your pet on the trek.

There are 2 different routes to go to Sinhagd Fort from Swargate, Pune.

    1. One route is Swargate- Sinhagad road- Khadakwasla Lake-Sinhagad Fort. This is around 29 km. Also, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset on the return journey at Khadkwasala Lake. This route again split into two different routes. One will take you directly to the Sinhagad Fort using your private vehicle.  And another one is a popular trek route. You will enter from famous Pune Darvaja using this route.
    2. The second route is Swargate – Katraj – Khed – Sinhagad Fort. This route is around 35 km of a distance. This side of a trek is quite easy. You can enter to Sinhagad Fort from Kalyan Darvaja.
